Dry Town
Project Name: Dry Town Water Park
Location: Palmdale, CA
This park project features a six-acre old Western mining town-themed aquatic park, a recreation center, and a year-round swimming pool. This site will also have a 4.5-acre landscaped area designated for community events and a landscaped 12-acre flood detention basin for soccer and football.
Scope: All civil engineering design and ultimately construction surveying and soils testing for the 33 acre park which includes water slides, swimming pools, soccer and football fields. Scope includes horizontal control, topo mapping, street cross-sections, street, on/off site water, on/off site sewer, grading plans, erosion control pan, lighting plans, signing and striping, and storm drain detention facility. Project also required hydraulic calculations for water and basin to 1,000 feet to the south of the basin on 40th Street East. Design of inlet, outlet and stand pipe structures for piping and storage facilities. Piping system consisted of dual 48 inch RCPs for 5the inlet, and a single 48 inch RCP for the outlet which crossed Avenue S and extended northerly to a bubble up outlet structure.
